Turkish Cast on, Toe-up, socks on Magic Loop

I have a finished object... or does it count as two because they are socks?

Call me anal, but it bothers me that the stripes aren't matching exactly.

I took Joanne F's. sock class at Ewe Knits. She is an excellent teacher, and provides clear handouts with both well-written instructions and clear photos. She's well prepared, very organized, and patient as all get out. What more could one ask in a knitting teacher? Thanks Joanne.

The socks are lovely. I can't say much about the strips since I am a Magic Loop drop out. I missed one l class last summer and never did get the hang of it after that. So I took the dpns class and was perfectly happy with them. Either way, I got a pair of socks and that makes me more happy than anything!

:) So, you didn't drop out; you made a different choice.

Choice? That's a polite way to put it. I just couldn't grasp the concept. I might try another time. I am really happy with the dpns and for now that works.

You had nice pictures of Linda's sweater. I wasn't sure I understood what she was saying about gauge and after she explained it, I got it. It was the perfect example about why gauge is so important. I will make swatches from now on. BTW, I loved the idea of no cable needle cables. That was so neat. I didn't even know that there was such a thing as right and left cables either. So I really learned a lot at the meeting. I don't think I have ever left without something. Good job!

Cool! I thought I mucked up the instructions and made people NOT want to try this really cool technique.

I am using it to do the sleeves on Starlight.

I think there should be a class on this. I don't know when or how, but a class. I like visual things and instructions for a back up; not that I always follow them...

Cooool socks! I have mine sitting in the basket "to be worked on next" but other projects keep getting in their way.

And people who wear unmatched socks are rebels!

I've been called "out there;" does that count as a rebel? ;)
